TORONTO, ON — Canadian performers have ratified the terms of settlement reached between ACTRA and Game On Creative, Inc. with respect to the agreement covering performers engaged in video game production in Canada. The new agreement includes a three per cent increase to all rates in each year of the three-year Agreement and is retroactively in effect from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023.

The Government pledged to ensure digital giants share their revenue more fairly with creators and will also require them to contribute to the creation, production, and distribution of Canadian stories on screen, in lyrics, in music, and in writing.
Canadian performers have voted (96.56 per cent) in favour of extending the National Commercial Agreement (NCA) and (98.63 per cent) in favour of extending the NCA Local and Regional (L&R) Addendum for a one-year period. The agreement reached between ACTRA and the Joint Broadcasting Committee of the Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA) and the Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA) is to extend the terms and conditions of the current NCA and the NCA L&R Addendum for a one-year period from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021.
